2014 Summer Reading Challenge START UP + GIVEAWAY

Happy June! The 2014 Summer Reading Challenge has officially begun, and thankfully we're heading into summer.

Yet the mosquitoes are still questionable unless you're upside down over in the other hemisphere who are heading into Winter. I hope you guys have better luck than what we had earlier in the year, which was actually terrible. Unless you're in California or Florida.

But... I'm so excited to be hosting this challenge again this year and hope that you manage to get some reading done this summer. It's definitely not too late to sign up still, as sign ups will be open until September 1, 2014. You can sign up through the linky HERE.

IF YOU ARE TRACKING THE SIGN UP POST YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON VITAL GIVEAWAY ENTRIES. Now if you're tracking THIS post, well, you're fine. I HIGHLY recommend you bookmark this page.

Details/Rules - Final Changes (they're minor)

  • Read at least FIVE books. There's definitely no limit as to how many books you want to read
  • It can be any book published BEFORE June 1, 2014 (that's today!)
    • ARCs have to be published before June 1, 2014
  • Anyone's welcome to join, even if you don't have a blog or Tumblr - yes, that includes Goodreads, YouTube, B&N, Smashwords, etc.
  • A starting post is optional, unless you are making this a TBR challenge and want to get through a specific pile of books.
  • There are 5 MANDATORY review links, along with a daily free entry, in which anyone can actually enter. The giveaway is more aimed to SRC participants this year.
    • Okay, the freebie is mandatory. Then you have to past Book 1 before other options are open. Sorry.
  • Review links must be posted between June 1 - September 1
  • Earn extra entries for more than 5 reviews and adding the Summer Reading Challenge button to your blog (linking back). It can be the banner, but that'll probably make it hard to read, so you might want to grab the one at the end of the post.
    • Only 1 additional review per DAY. Like I said earlier, I HIGHLY recommend you bookmark this and take note.
  • If you crosspost, you only need to link up to ONE.
  • It does not have to be a long review, but it can't be just one or two words, like good. Or bad.
  • Giveaway ends September 2 at Midnight CST. A winner will be chosen within a few days (depending on how busy I am)
  • Prize: $5 Amazon Gift Card (Bing Rewards doesn't give more than that. I might toss in another, but that's yet to be determined
Oh, and I'd like your thoughts on this year's prize. Would you guys prefer to win a $5 Amazon Gift Card, or be able to choose your own prize from Bing Rewards, such as donating to charity (under a certain limit of course)? Please note that if it's the latter, the option for entries in a drawing (on Bing Rewards) is not available.

Good Luck! May the book fairies be with you! ^_^
