The Queen B*, Alexis Wyndham, has only three rules when it comes to dating that star quarterback, Brett Pederson:

1. No obligations to spend every waking moment with each other.

2. No public displays of affection while at Eastline High.

3. And absolutely, under no circumstances, will she ever go to the Homecoming dance.

But as her life is completely upended time and time again, she begins to wonder if some rules are meant to be broken.

**Slight spoilers below if you haven't read book 1 & 2!**

I can't believe The Queen B* trilogy is now over! It's so weird to think that I only just  discovered this trilogy in June and now it's finished! *bawls* It's been a bit of an up and down roller coaster of emotions while reading this trilogy, but I'm pleased to say that The Queen B* and the Homecoming King tied everything up in a satisfying conclusion that made my fangirl heart very happy!

After finishing the second book a couple of months back and feeling a little let down because it just didn't have the punch that the first book, Confessions of a Queen B* was so full of, I was more then a little nervous when I started The Queen B* and the Homecoming King but I shouldn't have worried because this book is 99% excellent from start to finish.

Brett and Alexis have officially become a couple in the start of The Queen B* and the Homecoming King and things are looking towards a smoother path for the both of them after the emotional ups and downs of book two. I really enjoyed - have always enjoyed - watching Brett and Alexis's relationship grow within the trilogy, but this book especially I thought they both grew even more for the better, and it was really nice to read.

We see a different picture of Brett at times in here and for me that had it's pros and cons. Pros, because it showed that he's not just this perfect human being and has weaknesses and problems just like the rest of us, but cons because when he was having some bad moments in here, Brett became a real dick. I liked how Alexis stood up to him and pointed out that he was actually acting really shitty

Alexis herself is just as awesome as she has been in every book of the trilogy! In book two, she did seem to lose her spark a bit and made some not so wise choices but I feel in here she's finally become comfortable in not hiding behind her "Bitch" persona and showing the world her real self which just shows the amount of growth she's undergone when you look back at book one and then look at book three.

My only real complaint is that I wish that I'd read the updated blurb (the one above) not the previous one for this book before diving into it, because the first blurb spoiled a major *thing* that from reading the blurb I expected to happen in the first 10%...when in actual fact in the book the *thing* didn't happen till almost 90% in. This spoiled my reading journey of it slightly.

Confessions of a Queen B* will always be my favourite of the trilogy, just because it was so sparky and fun to read and has a specialspecial place in my heart - but this one, The Queen B* and the Homecoming King, is my second favourite definitely!

I really recommend this series if you're wanting a light read or a slightly more heavy one because McHugh manages to weave both subjects so cleverly and make something extremely addicting. I'm sorry to see this series finished but I felt the way it ended was pretty perfect. <3

Author Bio

Growing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.

She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.

Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she's had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.

And she's also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
