Synopsis: A powerful new YA Novel by award-winning dark romance author AM Hudson.
Do not go gentle into the wolf's asylum...
Once every twenty years, pack alpha Luther takes a new wife. On the day of Selection, Red is chosen. Just as her family always planned. Just as she always planned. Until she met Alex Plain.
Alex took Red to worlds she never imagined, where the ordinary is seen as magical, and the upright is abstract. With the help of this new friendship, Red begins to see a future for herself outside of the pack. But, unfortunately, Alex Plain came along too late.
Red is obligated to marry Luther now, and taken to live in the mysterious Ravenswood Mansion, where the truth lies and the walls have eyes. What Red learns there about her alpha will ignite some burning questions- ones that, when answered, could undo the entire order of the pack:
What happened to all the children born there? Why hasn't this mansion left the seventeenth century? And where all this previous wives?
I've never read anything by the author Angela M. Hudson but this won't be the last!
The main character, Red, turned out to be half wolf once she realized who really was her father. This made everyone abandoned her and cast her away since she is not fully a wolf. So she is going through a lot and that's when she met the Oh so wonderful Alex Plain. Alex really brought in the humor in the book and totally showed Red how he deals with his own pain in a more meaningful way. Alex is clearly going through a lot more than Red but he handles the situations like a champ.
Red was chosen to be the Alpha's next wife but doesn't know whether she truly wants to leave Alex behind. I mean marrying the Alpha will make everyone respect her and her family and they will be able to pay off the house.
It was such a great story and I was not expecting this book to contain so much meaning. All the stories Alex told Red seemed very weird and extreme to me but once he explains them, it truly makes sense and I was the one who was going AWWWWWW. Red was a great character too and I felt like both Alex and Red helped each other deal with their pain.
It was a great magical roller coaster and I just think that I need an Alex in my life where they will make me look at life in a more positive way because sometimes, my life isn't always smiles and giggles. I would truly suggest you read this! It's a great story and I will most definitely read more of her books in the near future!
BY THE WAY... My favorite part of the whole book is when Alex wears the shirt that says "Your Book Boyfriend is Right in Front of You." HA! So funny! But seriously. Add this to your to read list. PRONTO!
