Blog Tour: A Thousand Salt Kisses Later - Book 2 Review + Giveaway

Hello everyone! Today, I have another (yay!) post on the blog tour for A Thousand Salt Kisses Later hosted by iRead Book Tours. So two days ago I posted a review to the first novel in this series, A Thousand Salt Kisses (psst! Click here to go to that post) and today, I have a review for the sequel! Let's get started on this post with a bit of information (because knowledge never hurts).

I'm sorry. I had to. This cat is so adorable!
*coughs* Ahem, back to the book...

A Thousand Salt Kisses Later (Salt Kisses #2)
Author: Josie Demuth
Publication Date: November 17, 2016
Publisher: Wise Ink
Links: Amazon | Goodreads | Barnes & Noble
The spellbinding sequel to A Thousand Salt Kisses.

Four years ago, Crystal White fell in love with Llyr, a prince of the magical mer colony living off the coast of Starfish Island. For one summer, he enchanted her with stories of jeweled palaces and underwater gardens, but then he left, returning beneath the waves with her heart in tow.

Now, graduated and with no job in sight, Crystal is forced to go back to the island she thought she had left in the past. By the sea again, she realizes she is far from over her first love, and when an opportunity arises to contact the merfolk, Crystal can’t resist.

Once more with the mer, Crystal is forced to come to terms with the fact that Llyr has moved on, and also with her own magical secret that has endangered her life, his throne, and every mer kingdom. Working against all odds, she has to try to save the people she has come to love and—if she can—rekindle the romance of her first summer on Starfish Island.

Review (PS there may or may not be spoilers for book one so be warned)
Just a note, I recieved a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review which in no way affects this. Thanks to the people who organised the tour for a copy!
I'm pretty sure this technically can be read as a stand-alone but I feel it's necessary to read A Thousand Salt Kisses first to understand more about Crystal, Starfish Island, and her friends. This story takes place four years after the first book, and Crystal has just graduated from college (so this one kinda borders YA/NA) and has to come back to Starfish Island after living in London. Also, this novel focuses less on Crystal and Llyr's (love the name <3) romance and more about the merfolk world.

I feel that since this book focuses more on the merfolk world, you get to know the mer-characters more and they become a bit more developed than in the first book. Also, they play bigger parts and Crystal's human friends are left behind a bit here.

Now that I'm writing the review (which is actually the night before this is going up *sweat drop*), I just realized but you get to find out why the title of this book (and the one before it) is A Thousand Salt Kisses (Later). I find it kinda cool, but now I'm thinking I'm stupid for not catching this before... Anyway...

Umm... I think if I keep going I'm just going to ramble on about stupid stuff so I'm just going to say this is the end of the review (unless I can come up with coherent thoughts).

There is a *slight* love triangle introduced but it was still pretty obvious who Crystal was going to go for. That's because (at least I think) the third character was never meant to be an actual love interest, if that makes sense. Ugh, how do I explain this? He wasn't meant to end up with Crystal, there that works.

As far as I know, there are five total books in this series (I checked on Wattpad) but I don't know if all five of them are being published. My guess would be yes, but either way, I'm going to go onto Wattpad to read the next book because this series is something I like and would love to continue it. Well bye!

...

Just kidding, I can't leave this post behind... Maybe...
