Isabella @ The Book Pandas and Erica @ Erica Robyn Reads | Novel Newcomers

Hi bookwyrms!

Welcome to this week's edition of Novel Newcomers, where I feature new book bloggers who started in the past year (2016). This week's bloggers are Isabella from The Book Pandas (Lupe approves of this name because she adores pandas) and Erica from Erica Robyn Reads.

Outside of blogging and reading, what other interests do you have?
Erica: I love photography! That is definitely my biggest hobby. I love just wandering around taking photos of anything that interests me, but I also do a lot of hired work. I also really enjoy going for walks, jogging, binge watching netflix, and hanging out with friends and family.

Isabella: I love dancing ballet! I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old, and it’s probably my biggest passion in life besides reading and book blogging. I’m also obsessed with pandas (of course), chocolate, and Broadway shows.

What is your most unusual accomplishment?
Erica: This may be a bit of a lame one, but I was hired a week before I graduated college to do exactly what I was going to school for: Business Marketing and Social Media. It’s been three years and I’m still pretty proud of that accomplishment!

Isabella: I’m actually a Level 10 rhythmic gymnast, which is the highest level and a position you have to qualify for. The qualification competition is extremely nerve wracking, and you have to be one of the top 25 gymnasts in the country!

What is your favorite food?
Erica: I am a total sucker for mozzarella sticks! Like seriously... it’s embarrassing to see my lack of self control when I’ve got a plate of them in front of me.

Isabella: As I’ve said above, CHOCOLATE! Really almost anything with sugar though. Did I mention I’m a super healthy teen?

What do you look forward to this summer?
Erica: I’m planning to take my second ever stay-cation. I cannot wait! I’m hoping to do nothing but read, hit the gym, and blog!

Isabella: Two things! First, I’m attending San Francisco Ballet School’s summer intensive for four weeks, which I’m super excited for since I love the San Francisco Ballet. Second, I’m celebrating a super late Sweet 16 by going on a short Disney Cruise with my parents as well as visiting Disney World and Harry Potter World. Oh, there’s also this other small thing I have to do: college applications. No big deal, right?

If you could vacation anywhere in the world for the next several months, where would you go?
Erica: England! I went once for a month back in 2008. I absolutely loved it! I dream of going back all the time. Hopefully someday I will be able to visit again.

Isabella: There are so many places I would love to travel to! Can I just pick a world tour? :P My top eight choices would probably be London, New York, Manila (where most of my family lives), Tokyo, Chengdu (for the pandas), Hong Kong, San Francisco, and Orlando.

What books are you looking forward to releasing the rest of the year?
Erica: I absolutely cannot wait for:
  • The Weight of Lies by Emily Carpenter (Expected publication: June 6th 2017)
  • You'll Never Know, Dear by Hallie Ephron (Expected publication: June 6th 2017)
  • Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan (Expected publication: June 13th 2017)
  • Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab (Expected publication: June 13th 2017)
  • Giant Days Vol. 5 (Giant Days #17-20) by John Allison & Max Sarin (Expected publication: June 20th 2017)
Isabella: Ahhh I don’t know how to choose! There are so many wonderful books releasing later this year! Some of my most anticipated releases that I haven’t read yet  are probably Warcross by Marie Lu, Not Your Villain by C.B. Lee, The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo, Because You Love to Hate Me, and Forest of A Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao. Books that I can’t wait for all of you to read are Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee, They Both Die At the End by Adam Silvera, and The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue [by Mackenzi Lee]. Honestly, I could go on for days, but let’s just say that there are definitely tons of amazing books coming out later this year!
