Iridescence @ Light Up the Shining Night | Novel Newcomers

Sometimes I want to take a very, very long break from the interwebs and blogging and disappear under a rock, never to appear again because there are days I just don't want to do anything or accomplish anything and it's a horrible feeling because I think I could've accomplished a lot in that unproductive time. And then a few HOURS go by.
So while I'm being a very productive human being (AKA not wanting to slack and wanting to be ahead in both blogging and school or at least one of those before later months come knocking), Novel Newcomers 2017 is still in session even if I'm very bad at staying on track and should probably find a cohost because I'll have less on my shoulders.

This week's Novel Newcomers was originally two bloggers but I've divided them up into separate posts for reasons I won't disclose (reality: I'm waiting for others and I don't nag because I know I was the one late). The first half is Iridescence from Light Up the Shining Night Stars, who helped cohost the first #NovelNewcomersChat back in early August (it was a smol chat, but we did pull it together last minute... whoops), along with Annie from I Live and Breathe Words.

Somehow the other half got lost in my email and while I was cleaning it up a few months ago or a few weeks ago the person completely disappeared? How..!
I probably need help. Shoutout to the next Novel Newcomer Rebekah from Rebekah Rose Books for dealing with sleepy brained me who somehow deleted her email.

Outside of blogging and reading, what other interests do you have?
Most of my free time is taken up by these two, but if I have some more time to spare I usually sketch or doodle something. I used to sketch and paint way more often but it's cut down now. I also bullet journal. I'm a planner and I love the flexibility that the bullet journal system provides. I plan a lot.

What is your most unusual accomplishment?
When I first read this question, I was (still am, tbh) very confused. I asked my best friend the same thing and she replied, "um, nothing?" with a confused face as well! I'm not sure if this is an "accomplishment" but it is unusual. A few of my friends in college are actually a bit afraid of me. I have no clue why but one of them told me that she's sort of afraid of me, maybe because I'm blunt and take no nonsense. Or something like that. I never thought I'd be someone who intimidates others as I'm usually the one talked over. So I guess that is kind of accomplishment. All of them are still my friends though. They said that they appreciate my honesty and bluntness, and we're all good friends.

What is your favorite food?
Pizza! Definitely Pizza. I'm actually a vegetarian since birth (I haven't even had egg once, ever) so I suppose that cuts down a lot of food options. Pizza is the food my best friends and I eat when we have some money saved up or as a celebration for anything. It's pizza.

Name 1-3 authors who are not well known or bestsellers whose books you think everyone should read.
I recently read a series by Jennifer Probst called Searching For. It's romance, and I totally loved ALL the books in the series. I'm surprised that I only came across her work now because I've been going through romance books for quite a while now.

Fighting Redemption by Kate McCarthy is one of my favourite books which gave me so many feels. I haven't seen her or this book mentioned anywhere, and I hope that changes! Again, this is romance.

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is one of my all-time favourite books, and I've hardly seen any mention of it?! This book deserves to be read by everyone. I have read it three times, and I still want to reread it again. It's effect doesn't fade. Zafon writes VERY well.

What book world would you prefer to not get stuck in and why?
Mostly, Game of Thrones. I would die very soon. Also maybe The Hunger Games. That world is just depressing.

If you had to possess the soul of a fictional character for a day, who would it be? (You’re really just experiencing their day.)
Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy. All I want is to experience being loved by Rhysand. Even if I see him only for five minutes. If only I could *sighs*

Favorite line from your current read? (Can be funny, inspirational, etc.)
"We are not broken things, neither of us. We are cracked pottery mended with lacquer and flakes of gold, whole as we are, complete unto each other. Complete and worthy and so very loved." This is from The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee.
